The Furco Family would like to invite you to an event that is very near and dear to their hearts.
Emily’s sister, Abby, forever 15, passed away after an 11- year battle with cancer and its effects in October 2021. Abby is very much a big part of Emily and their family. They miss her dearly and hold her close each and every day.
Last year, three of Abby’s friends, current Kellam High School seniors, came to Patty and wanted to put together a color run event as a way to celebrate and remember Abby, along with taking action to help others battling childhood cancer. They had such a great event with over 200 participants, 120 volunteers. It was fully community business sponsored, and they raised over $10,000 for childhood cancer research! They are excited to do it again.
The Second Annual Abby Furco Memorial Color Fun Run is set for Sunday, October 15th, with race start at 10 AM at Lago Mar Park at Back Bay in Virginia Beach. It is open to anyone in the community that would like to run or walk the 5k course and have a great time! Be prepared to be covered in color powder and SMILE A LOT. 😁 All proceeds go to fund lifesaving childhood cancer research with St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
We’d love to have our TCOYO family there. It will be such a good time!!
Adult entries are $25; child entries are $15. If you are unable to make it, they’d be thankful for your donation.
